Crowdsurfer is a juiced-up, full-flavored IPA. Every can bursts with juicy mango, fresh oranges, and passion fruit—a real thirst-quencher.
IPAs were first created by the English in the 1800s. These pale ales were designed to survive the long journey from England to India. This was achieved by leaving fermentable material in the barrel so the beer would continue to brew during the journey. Higher amounts of hops were also added for their antibacterial properties.
The style saw a major revival during the American craft beer revolution of the early ’90s. It lent itself perfectly to the flavorful hops produced there. The resulting beers were far more full-flavored and bitter than their English counterparts.
Today, the style has evolved to include less bitter, juicier IPAs, with hops mainly added post-fermentation to enhance flavor and aroma while reducing bitterness.
